Carmel, IN - Sue Finkam, candidate for Carmel mayor, announces today her intent to form the Carmel Housing Coalition to address community concerns regarding the continued development of apartments, traffic congestion and available housing options within the city. The coalition will allow residents to have a voice alongside elected officials, trade organizations, developers, builders and businesses to use data to shape housing policy and create housing opportunities that meet the community’s needs.
"As Mayor Brainard transitions out of office, it is imperative that we create a framework for development that will guide future decision-making as to the type of product we focus on, where development occurs and how we invest in existing neighborhoods to improve quality of life for
all residents," says Finkam. "Goal One will be to provide certainty for the public and our development partners."
Additional objectives of the Carmel Housing Coalition are to:
“It’s clear that development is a primary concern of residents during this election. Soon after taking office as your next mayor, we will address it in a collaborative, transparent manner, to provide peace-of-mind to all stakeholders,” says Finkam.
